Oculoplasty deals with surgery and aesthetic and functional medicine of the gaze and beyond. To achieve an harmonious and balanced aesthetic result I always use the Full Face technique. I never dwell only on the eyes and eyelids but I value the shape of the face as a whole, the skin and the volumes. Every rocket, every emptying of the face tells us something and often the message it reports is “tiredness” or “sadness”, even when it does not represent the true state of mind of the patient. There are patients who complain that they have different eye shapes (just one upper eyelid with excess skin, for example). In this specific case, instead of proposing an upper blepharoplasty to remove the excess skin in one of the two eyelids, I prefer to improve symmetry by filling the upper eyelids with a specific hyaluronic acid-based filler. The gaze region, given its delicacy, can present complications following filler injections with hyaluronic acid.
These may include the appearance of an unsightly swelling or chronic edema in the upper or lower eyelids, depending on where the filler was previously injected.
The management of these complications is represented by hyaluronidase, an antidote to hyaluronic acid.

In the last year, the trend of the “fox eye” has spread.
In numerous images on instagram we see more and more women who with various stratagems simulate an elongated eye, including many celebrities as Bella Hadid, Megan Fox and Kendall Jenner.

In this period, many patients using continuously the #masks, notice the asymmetries of their eyes more than before.
In my experience, I often notice an eyelid ptosis, meaning one or both of the upper lids are lower than their normal level. This gives a tired and not very expressive look. The trans-conjunctival ptosis correction, without a skin scar, is an excellent solution to this problem as it will improve the eye shape while respecting the harmony of the whole face.
