How much does the shape of our eyes characterize our expressions?

The position of the outer corner of the eye and the lower eyelid plays a fundamental role because determine the type of emotional message that, each of us, transmits with our gaze.

Those who suffer from round eye, downward eye or a more closed eye very often do not find the right incisiveness in their gaze.

When we talk about non-ablative blepharoplasty, we must imagine an electrical device, the Plexr, which uses the ionization of gases in the air (plasma) to generate a small electric shock that acts at the level of the epidermis, remodeling it.

Plasma brought near the eyelid causes small punctiform “burns” of the superficial horny layer of the skin, with consequent skin retraction and mini lifting effect.

This lifting effect, however, is transient, usually lasting a few months, for a maximum of 6. Furthermore, the post-treatment course is comparable to that of a minimally invasive surgical blepharoplasty, which however lasts for many years. Both procedures involve the use of local anesthesia.

In my experience I use this treatment only when there are small wrinkles or slight excesses of skin in the lower eyelid to be minimized.
Otherwise I prefer surgery and, in this case, upper and lower blepharoplasty.

Paolo had excess tissue in both the upper and lower eyelids, resulting in a crease at the height of the outer canthus of the eye.

She wanted to improve her eyes in a lasting way.

For this reason I decided to offer him the surgery of upper and lower blepharoplasty, ablative (minimally invasive surgery).

When we talk about dark circles we refer to an unsightly darkening around the eyes, which envelops the eye like a purple shadow.
Volume deficit eyesight can be effectively improved through injections of hyaluronic acid-based fillers.

This blemish, however, is only “the tip of the iceberg “: often it is not enough to dedicate oneself to a single area to obtain an effective and natural result.

I also evaluate to treat the entire area surrounding the eyelids.

Here is a typical complication from fillers, swelling (edema) of the lower eyelid.

A lot of patients want to achieve a Fox eyes effect without resorting to surgery.

Is this really possible?
The answer is no.

PDO threads are an aesthetic treatment that, as such, does not change the shape of the eye in a lasting way.

The initial lifting effect and inclination of the eyelid skin towards the temple. – due to the tightening of the PDO wires immediately after the treatment – has a very short life!
Already after 2/3 weeks the effect disappears: in fact, pre and post photos are always taken immediately after the treatment and never after months.

Therefore, if a patient wants a Fox eyes effect, I do not recommend this procedure!

Alessia had significant edema, with consequent swelling, on both lower eyelids.
This caused her great discomfort as it did not reflect or enhance the natural features of her face.

The solution for these complications is often represented by the hyaluronidase antidote to hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronidase is a valid, safe and effective treatment;

Many patients who have dull and apparently tired eyes tend to think they need upper blepharoplasty.
Just focusing on this surgery as a procedure aimed at improving the upper eyelids is not enough.
For example, those who suffer from drooping eyelid also have a mild eyelid ptosis which is often not recognized.
